Installing Windows Mobile Device Centre

 

WMDC is the program used to transfer data between your computer and PDA.

It comes standard in Windows 7, 8, and 10.

 

If you are using Windows Vista, WMDC may not come installed on your computer.

Possible issues with Windows 10

If you are having problems getting WMDC to work with Windows 10, try the following ...

Download this file to your desktop - FixWMDC


Right mouse click on the icon, Left click on Rename.
Change  WMDCfix.New  to  WMDCfix.Bat
Answer  Y  to confirm.

Right mouse click on the icon.
Left mouse click on Run as Administrator
Answer  Y  to  Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device ?

You then need to ReStart your computer.

Try Mobile Device Centre again, and remember your PDA needs to be switched on to work.

Setting up Mobile Device Centre for data transfer

 

1.  Connect the PDA to your computer using the USB cable and turn on.

     The Windows Mobile Device Centre screen will appear.

 

2.  Click on Set up your device.

     If a window appears saying No Email Program exists, click Ok.

 

3.  On the Setup Windows Mobile Partnership screen,

     clear all checkboxes, select Files, click Next.

 

4.  Confirm the PDA Device Name, click Setup.

 

A shared folder will be created on your desktop,

 where files will be copied to and from your PDA.

 ( called Documents on 'PDA name' )
